The ADDAC501B expansion is connected directly and automatically recognized by the ADDAC501 Complex Random.
It extends its functionality by adding gate outputs to the random generators.

There are three pairs of gates, corresponding to the respective outputs on ADDAC501. Each gate pair has both positive and inverted outputs.

There are 2 modes for the gates operation:
1. Random mode: Generates a gate on when the channel cv is above the average between Minimum and Maximum.
2. Clocked mode: Generates a trigger output everytime the corresponding CV output changes.
To change between modes use the [Internal/Ext. Clock] switch on ADDAC501 and fastly flip it twice (up and down or down and up).

This expansion module also offers a dedicated Smooth knob for gliding effects.
With it you can have a voltage ramp or interpolation between two consecutive random numbers.
The Smooth pot rest state (inactive) is set at center (12 o'clock):
. Rotating to the left features a peculiar portamento "ring modulation"
. Rotating to the right features the standard smooth/glide function.
