The Modular Solo is the perfect MIDI to CV converter for Eurorack modular users. Featuring the rock-solid tuning stability that Kenton converters are famous for, the Modular Solo also includes four continuously variable auxiliary outputs for controlling other aspects of your modular system; as well as two dedicated clock outputs (which can be set to different division ratios) for keeping everything synched up to MIDI clock.

The CV output can operate at the usual 1V/Oct, or as Hz/Volt or 1.2V/Oct. The scaling and tuning are adjustable, to accommodate any unruly modules you might have. The Gate output can work at several different voltage levels, and can also be set to work a S-trig instead. In addition to this, the MIDI OUT port can be switched to output Sync24, so your vintage Roland equipment can join in as well.

It is 10HP wide, 80mm deep, and includes a 20cm ribbon cable to connect to standard Doepfer-style power supplies.

Features

Designed to control all types of mono-synth
Super-fast response time
Famous Kenton build quality
High specification 16 bit D/A converter for main CV for rock-steady pitches

CV & Gate signals can be sent via the ribbon cable to the system bus – selected using jumpers
MIDI IN socket (5 pin DIN)
MIDI OUT/THRU (5 pin DIN) socket can be switched to become DIN Sync 24 instead
Any MIDI channel can be selected
Switchable for V/oct & Hz/V & 1.2V/oct scaling systems
Fine tune & scale are software controllable
Transpose (coarse tune) – up & down 12 semitones
Adjustable pitchbend range – up to 12 semitones
Programmable Gate V-trig (up to 10V) or S-trig (with or without pull-up)
Multiple and single trigger modes
Note priority selection – newest / lowest / highest
Old notes are remembered to facilitate trill effects and increase playability
Portamento – fixed rate or fixed time modes
Auto Portamento mode selectable (where legato playing turns on Portamento)
Portamento Controller is selectable (default 65)
Programmable AUX 1,2,3,4 variable analogue output controllable by any MIDI controller
2x fully independent clock outputs 5V or 10V selectable
Programmable LFO – 9 wave shapes including random
