Roundup 28 August | Pocket SCION, new ALM & more
It’s all go today with the launch of Instruo’s awesome new Pocket SCION portable biofeedback synth! Built in collaboration with Modern Biology, this lets you use small changes in the bioelectricity of organisms like plants and mushrooms to control its built-in synth engines or send MIDI data to drive external gear. It’s very, very cool - more details below!
The shop was buzzing last night at our in-store event with ALM Busy Circuits - the wonderful Matthew Allum demoed the Turismo system, showed off a couple of new and unreleased modules and took part in a great Q&A where he chatted about ALM’s design philosophy. We recorded it, so look out for that on our YouTube channel next week if you couldn’t make it in person.
In the meantime, read on for news of more new arrivals, a cracking Make Noise video and news of Glasgow’s latest resource for synth-lovers.
Until next time,
Jason, Aleks, Kyle, Luke, Molly, Rob & Tom

New on our YouTube channel
Sound designer and composer Michael Manning made a welcome return to the Signal Sounds channel last week to explore the ReSynthesizer - a beautifully curated selection of Make Noise Eurorack modules in a 7U 104HP case. In the video, he builds some incredible patches that show off the range of the system and talks through some of its key components - including the Spectraphon oscillator and double Maths! If you’re interested in ordering a system of your own, drop us a message.
And finally...
The folks at Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound (GLOSS) are good friends of Signal Sounds. GLOSS is a non-profit, artist-led, community-based organisation that provides access to electronic music gear, instruments, education, workshops, performances and more. They’ve got a beautiful new space full of amazing gear, and they’ve just opened up memberships for priority access and discounts on sessions and workshops. You can find out more about it and sign up via the GLOSS website. It’s a genuinely great resource, so if you’re in the area, do get involved!
