For our first in-store event of 2026, we’re playing host to our friends from Belgian Eurorack brand Shakmat Modular. Shakmat’s Francois will showcase their modules - including the forthcoming Ballista Blast synth voice and Lancer’s Lash snare drum - in a unique live performance, before breaking down the patch and discussing the workflow. It’s sure to be full of invaluable tips for anyone performing live with modular synths!

Tickets are free - save your spot on Eventbrite. Drinks and pizzas will be available from 6.30pm (including non-alcoholic and vegan options) and the event will start at 7pm. Francois will be hot-footing it up to Bloc for a live set at Attack Release after the event. Hope to see you there!

Francois and Guillaume from Shakmat will also be hosting a DIY workshop the following night, Thursday 26th, for anyone interested in building one of their kits.

Here’s how it works:

• Decide on which module you’d like to build, from the list below.

• Reserve a spot for the event via Eventbrite.

• We’ll get in touch to ask for your choice of module.

• You’ll pay for your module on the night (via card or cash) and build it with help from the Shakmat team.

Shakmat kits are reasonably beginner-friendly - some previous soldering experience is helpful, but there will be assistance on hand for absolute beginners! Soldering irons and solder will be provided.
